MAME cabinets have become a very popular project. And why should they not be? They allow you to play hundreds of games in the space of a single machine. Although not quite as good as the originals, MAME machines are the closest thing to actually owning the original machine.
After my first adventure into MAME cabinets (built as a shop project in 8th grade and featured a blazing-fast Pentium 133mhz Acer as the core) I had it set in my mind to build another, only this time a cocktail table. The perfect time arose; I was in need of a project to take to a competition for my shop class my senior year in high school. After a fair amount of research, my cocktail MAME machine began to go together.
In mid 2009, the machine was traded and went to live at a friend's house, where it underwent a variety of changes noted in the Modifications section.
