Hosted at Oklahoma City Community College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Electronic Game Expo (OEGE) was an annual gathering of video game and digital media enthusiasts. A multitude of vendors and game tournaments draws hundreds of spectators and participants looking for games, consoles, and accessories from all eras.
I was the lead coordinator for the rough start in 2008 and the 2009 show and one of several coordinators for the 2010 show. The new lead coordinator felt that OEGE should be broadened to encompass all digital art and media, not just games. With my departure to complete my degree at a university after the 2010 show, OEGE was re-branded GATE (Games, Animation and Technology Expo) but was cancelled soon after. There is talk that the show might be back for 2012, but time will tell.
