I remember watching Star Wars years ago and dreaming about flying through the trenches of the Death Star. By that time, however, most of the Star Wars arcade machines had already vanished from local arcades, finding their way into warehouses, a few comic book stores and the hands of collectors. I received a call from a friend who knew I was interested in his machine; he had to get rid of it to make room for his Star Wars cockpit.
Off I went with my father's truck, eager to get one of my favorite machines and a holy grail of arcade collecting nestled safely within my garage. The Star Wars currently sits between the Battlezone and Tempest, making a great vector lineup. Perhaps one of these days the Asteroids Deluxe and Omega Race will join them on the vector wall (when I feel up to cleaning out the garage again).
